OUR ROADS CAN BECOME TREACHEROUS IN WINTER. SNOWS AND ESPECIALLY ICE CAN LIMIT ACCESS/EGRESS. KEEP ENOUGH FOOD IN YOUR PANTRY FOR 2-4 DAYS AND ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THE WINTER LANDSCAPE.

NOTIFY YOUR GUESTS IF YOUR CABIN IS A RENTAL UNIT THAT WITHOUT 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND/OR CHAINS ON THEIR TIRES THEY WILL HAVE TO SIT BY THE FIRESIDE AND ENJOY THE VIEWS!


LOCK YOUR CARS... THE BEAR HAVE LEARNED TO OPEN CAR DOORS..... I wouldn't put it past 'em they have spare keys or lock picks! They're SMART!


DISPOSE OF ALL TRASH IN BEAR PROOF CONTAINERS ! NO EXCEPTIONS


Finally Let's be courteous PLEASE:

DO NOT LET YOUR DOG POOP ON SOMEONE"S FRONT YARD... MIGHT BE YOURS NEXT TIME and who KNOWS? The Guest or Leash Bearing Human may be walking AN ELEPHANT!

It is absolutely for-bidden to feed the bears! 
If they make contact with humans or tear a screen door down because of unguarded or unsecured garbage, they will be euthanized.. THAT MEANS KILLED, Y'ALL!
Hickory Hollow Important Notices

There are ACTIVE  Bear in the Community. Yep REAL LIVE BEAR.. DONT FEED EM FINGERS OR OTHER FOOD! This is their ancestral land and we are the invader.. leave them plenty of room and let 'em go. The Rangers wont take them away and you risk great harm if you try to interact with them.. these are not Yogi and Boo-Boo Bear

DO NOT FEED OR HARASS THE  BEARS THEY ARE DANGEROUS. WE'VE BUILT OUR HOMES IN THEIR HABITAT AND THEY MUST HAVE THEIR SPACE.
NEVER NEVER APPROACH OR COME BETWEEN A BEAR AND HER CUBS!

THE DEADLY WILD FIRES IN SEVIER COUNTY, GATLINBURG, WEARS VALLEY AND OUR SMOKIES.... 17600 acres, 15 people who lost their lives, 2700 homes and businesses destroyed, homes and families hurt and  homes around us lost.. We lost 78 homes in the Valley
There is not enough room to give our THANKS to all who have helped and continue to do so. GSM Outfitters, Michael and Heather Shepherd, Smoky Mountain Grocery, First Baptist Church in Wears Valley, Untied Methodist Church in the Valley and especially a huge thank you to Church in the Cove for ALL. Thanks to Sharon Hazard and Wears Valley Strong! Just naming a very few of all of you who have been Your Brothers Keeper!
